Level A Investigation: Foundation Performance Assessment

The Level A Investigation is a thorough initial evaluation designed to identify factors influencing your foundation’s performance. Perfect for property owners or clients seeking a professional assessment, this service delivers a clear understanding of your foundation’s condition through on-site observations and expert analysis. We include: 

• Interviews: We consult with occupants, owners, or clients (when possible) to gather a comprehensive history of the property and its foundation performance.

• Visual Walk-Through: Our engineers perform a detailed inspection, documenting visible conditions of the foundation and surrounding environment.

• Influencing Factors: We assess elements such as soil conditions, drainage, or other site-specific factors that may affect foundation stability.

• Engineer’s Findings Letter: Every Level A Investigation concludes with a professional letter that includes:

  • Scope of Services: A clear outline of the work performed.

  • Observations: Detailed notes from the site visit.

  • Discussion of Factors: An analysis of conditions impacting foundation performance, with expert rationale.

  • Recommendations: Practical suggestions for further investigation, remediation, or preventative measures.

Level B Investigation: Comprehensive Foundation Analysis

The Level B Investigation offers an in-depth assessment for clients needing a detailed understanding of foundation performance. Building on the Level A Investigation, the Level B Investigation includes advanced measurements, document reviews, and comprehensive documentation—perfect for complex issues, insurance claims, or legal matters. We include: 

• All items included in Level A Investigation.

• Document Review: When available, review critical documents such as geotechnical reports, construction drawings, field reports, and repair records and utilize this information during our evaluation.

• Foundation Survey Elevations: We provide precise relative elevation measurements, presented on scaled drawings and/or cross-sections, including deflection and tilt calculations to establish a performance baseline.
